Djiku's goal against Monaco was his second for Strasbourg

Sole scorer against Monaco, the Racing defender offered the three points to his team and also opened his goal counter this season.

After this winning return, he now has two goals with the Alsatian club since his arrival in the summer of 2019. The first, against Reims in February 2020, had been from the head during the victory of Thierry Laurey’s men on the score of 3-0.

Two goals are also his club record as he had never scored more than one goal in two seasons with Caen and three with Bastia.

Alexander Djiku this season is the key defender for Strasbourg this season.

The defender will be in the squad to face Nigeria in the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff on March 25th and March 29th.

Djiku made his debut for Ghana on October 9th 2020, he has since made eleven appearances for the Black Stars.
