Eastern RFA condemns unsporting behaviors by referees and supporters at Dawu stadium

The Executive Council of the Eastern Regional Football Association (ERFA), Middle League Committee and the Competition Department condemns  the unfortunate incidents of violence and hooliganism in our football which marred group B last stage match on Wednesday September 15, 2021 Middle League clash between Kwaebibirem United FC and Okwawu United FC at the Dawu Sports Stadium.

Middle League Committee condemns the behaviour of the referee. The RFA and the Middle League Committee boldly have a clean hands in such unprofessional officiating by Center Referee Emmanuel Coffie Agudavi and two lines men Nicholas Adadoh and Bismark Amakye.

We therefore condemns the unfortunate incidents of violence and hooliganism by supporters.

The Executive Council of the Eastern Regional Football Association (ERFA), at it’s marathon meeting held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 condemn such act wholeheartedly with the following statements.

“We apologies for the unsporting behaviour that ensured during and after in the said game which was a return to hooliganism that disrupted  Eastern football and Ghana as a whole. Meanwhile, the Eastern RFA has tasked its Prosecutors to start immediate instigation on the incidents.

Again, the Eastern RFA Prosecutors have been tasked to prefer the appropriate Charges immediately and for the Disciplinary Committee to sit on this matter rapidly.

Kindly note that the group A matches scheduled on Thursday September 16, 2021 between Great Warriors FC VS. Fotobiman FC at Dawu and Koforidua Suhyen Sporting Club VS. Talons FC at Mampong  will be played.

The final match scheduled on Sunday, September 19, 2021 will be on hold until further notice.

That the Eastern RFA wishes to assure the general public that it shall take all legitimate steps to restore confidence and trust in the beautiful game. In this respect as a first step, the Eastern RFA wishes to offer its sincerest and unconditional apologies to the entire nation and all our stakeholders.
