Ex-Anderlecht star Walter Bassegio prefers Ghanaian Majeed Ashimeru over Kristoffer Olsson in midfield

Former Anderlecht star Walter Bassegio is unhappy with the club’s midfield setup and has clamored for Majeed Ashimeru’s inclusion.

The enterprising midfielder put up a splendid performance in his first game since July 2021 against Eupen.

The former Belgium international who has identified a problem in Anderlecht’s midfield would prefer Majeed Ashimeru to Kristoffer Olsson.

Bassegio wants his former club play with more attacking players in the person of Ashimeru over Olson who is more defensive.

“Olsson is a player who defends more and Anderlecht have had enough of that,” he told La Dernière Heure.

“There is a lack of a real number ten at Anderlecht, which means there is too much space between the lines,”
