Ex-Black Stars defender Mohammed Gargo backs Milovan Rajevac to end AFCON drought

Former Ghana international Mohammed Gargo is absolutely confident that Milovan Rajevac can end the country’s Africa Cup of Nations trophy drought in Cameroon.

The Black Stars heads into the tournament with the hope of ending the 40-year trophy drought on the continent after last winning it in 1982.

The four-time African Champions have come close, reaching the finals three times and making the semi-final on several occasions.

In an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, the former Real Tamale United and Okwahu United coach indicated Ghana can win the title in Cameroon considering call ups made by the Serbian coach, Milovan Rajevac.

Asked if Ghana win the trophy, he said, “Of course, like I said, names do not play football again, it is based on individual efforts at the moment. The coach has been there before so he knows what to do”

“Nobody can detect for a white coach so I believe he has selected the players who can do the job for the nation” he said.
