Ex-Brighton coach Chris Hughton arrives in Ghana, likely to be named new Black Stars coach

Irish-born of Ghanaian descent Christopher Hughton could be named the new Black Stars coach upon his arrival in the West African country, Footballghana.com can report.

The Black Stars is currently without a coach following the sacking of Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac few days ago after Ghana’s poor showing at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The West Africa powerhouse recorded their worse AFCON tournament and their first exit since 2006 after finishing bottom of Group C behind Morocco, Gabon and Comoros.

The four-time Africa Champions will now have to wait until 2023 in the search of a fifth AFCON title.

According to Ghanaian Journalist, Muftawu Nabila, the former Brighton coach who was rejected by Ghana FA when they hired Milovan Rajevac is in Ghana and could be named to replace the Serbian.
