‘Expect the trophy’- Fatawu Issahaku promises Ghanaians AFCON 2021 glory
Black Stars hotshot Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has assured Ghanaians of delivering the goods at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations Tournament.
Ghana enters the 33rd edition of Africa’s premier football competition in Cameroon in search of continental glory for the first time since 1982.
The Black Stars are currently having their pre-tournament camping in Doha, Qatar where they will face Algeria on Wednesday in a friendly.
Having been drawn in a Group that comprises Morocco, Comoros and Gabon, expectations are high that the current crop of players will do the nation proud when the tournament starts on January 9.
Speaking in an interview from the team’s camping base, Fatawu Issahaku is upbeat about Ghana’s chances of lifting the cup at the end of the tournament.
“What Ghanaians should expect form me is just the cup… because every player if you are going for a tournament, your main target is the trophy,” the Dreams FC attacker told the Ghana Football App.
“So I think, thats what I have for Ghanaians, they should expect the come from us,” he concluded.
Ghana will kick off their campaign against Morocco on January 10.
