Fabio Gama is not a material for Africa – Alhaji Akanbi
Board Member of Hearts of Oak Alhaji Akanbi believes Asante Kotoko’s Fabio Gama is not a material that can help the side in Africa.
The Phobians have been confirmed as Ghana champions and will represent the country in the 2021/22 Caf Champions League competition.
It is well over a decade since the Phobians competed in the prestigious competition which they won in 2000.
The Phobians were confirmed as champions on the penultimate game of the season following their 1-1 draw against Liberty Professionals.
Their main rivals Kotoko were beaten 2-1 in Bechem to give Hearts a four points advantage with one game remaining.
After qualifying to participate in next year’s CAF Champions League, the Phobians has hinted of beefing up their squad in order to make a meaningful impact.
But according to Akanbi, the rainbow boys can boast of better and quality players than Asante Kotoko and said their talisman, Fabio Gama is not a material for Africa.
“Fabio Gama of Asante Kotoko is not a material for Africa. We have quality players than Asante Kotoko SC” he told Ash FM.
“Asante Kotoko doesn’t have quality players to win the league we Hearts of Oak were having good quality players than Kotoko that’s why we won the league”.
