Fit-again Gideon Mensah pushing for a starting role at Bordeaux
Ghana defender Gideon Mensah is pushing to secure a starting place in the Bordeaux team after making full recovery from his last injury.
The full-back sustained an injury prior to the November international break and as a result, had to miss Ghana’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Ethiopia and South Africa.
In the two weeks where there was no active club football, Gideon Mensah used the time to continue his treatment and do the needed physicals.
Over the weekend, the left-back recovered and even featured for the reserve team in a warm-up game.
Sources in France have confirmed that Gideon Mensah is now fully fit and has been training with the senior team of Bordeaux.
With the French Ligue 1 continuing over the weekend, he was not given the chance to play by his manager.
Not perturbed, the Black Stars left-back is keeping his head up and has set sight on working harder during this week in hopes of impressing the boss.
Mensah has been good for Bordeaux since signing for the team and should soon be back in the starting eleven.
