FMIG Ghana Premier League Team of Week One

The team at FMIG has put together a team of best performers in the Ghana Premier League during Match Week one.

From the goalkeeper to the last outfield player, we have taken time to give the various reasons that qualifies the players to make our Team of the Week.

1- Eric Ofori Antwi ( Legon Cities) – What a debut for the former Medeama goalkeeper. Antwi showed why he is still one of the best goalkeeper’s in the country. The goalkeeper made some crucial saves on the day and was the reason why Legon Cities manage a point in the game. Was adjudged man of the match due his impressive performance on the day.

2-Kwadwo Amoako ( Ashantigold)- The forgotten right back exhibited another great performance on the day as Ashantigold took the maximum points away from home. Amoako was fantastic on the day and provided the assist for Eric Esso’s strike.

4-Ismael Hammond (Elmina Sharks) – Great display from the experience defender. Kept Lions attack quite on the day. Can’t be blame for Rauf Salifu’s strike.

5-Joseph Adjei (Legon Cities)- The center back was defensively solid on the day. Made a lot of blocks at the back. Kept Kofi Kordzie quite on the day

3- Okoe Grippman ( Great Olympics)- Scored the opener for Olympics with a beautiful header at the Aliu Mahama Park. The left back defended very well and also made a lot of attacking moves.

Evans Sarfo ( King Faisal) – Making his debut for King Faisal, the former Karela United midfielder stole the show at the Baba Yara Stadium. Sarfo was dazzling in midfield with passes and twisting turns. Was deservedly awarded man of the match after the game.

Richmond Lamptey ( Asante Kotoko)- The former Inter Allies midfielder was voted man of the match due to his impressive performance. The midfielder capped off his performance with a long range shot to win the game for Kotoko.

Aguestine Okrah
( Bechem United) – Okrah had a debut return to Bechem United with a goal and two assist as the Hunters defeated Medeama at the Fosu Gyabour Park.

Emmanuel Aveyor ( Bechem United) – The striker was in a sublime form for the Hunters on the day. Avenyor bagged brace as Bechem United walloped Medeama. He was also voted man of the Match.

Abdul Aziz Dogo ( Karela United) – The lanky forward announce his presence at the CAM Park with a man of the match display against Aduana Stars. Aziz Scored the equalizer to earn a point for Karela against Aduana Stars.

Kingsford Boafo ( Bibiani Goldstars) – The former Star Madrid attacker made his history by becoming the first player to score for Bibiani Goldstars in the Top-flight League. Boafo ended up with the man of the match award.
