Focused C K Akonnor not thinking about Sudan win
Ghana coach Charles Akonnor says they are focused on beating South Africa and not thinking about Sudan win against Sao Tome.
The West African giants are sitting at the summit of the log with nine (9) points same as the Bafana Bafana but have been joined by Sudan after the Falcons’ 2-0 win against whipping boys of the Group, São Tomé and Principe on Wednesday.
The Black Stars will face South Africa in the penultimate match of Group C in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Thursday.
When quizzed if the Sudan win has added pressure on his team ahead of the game on Thursday, Akonnor answered.
“We are not going to look at what Sudan have done. We have to look at ourselves as a football nation. And our people are hungry, they want to see us qualify so it is important for us to do well tomorrow and qualify.” He added.
