Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Sulley Muniru joins Belarusian side FC Minsk
Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muniru has completed a move to Belarusian Premier League side FC Minsk.
Muniru joined the Belarusian side months after parting ways with Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko SC.
The 28-year-old midfielder signed a free-agent contract that will keep him until December 2021.
A statement on the club’s website read,
“The next recruit of FC Minsk is 28-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muniru
“The professional career of this footballer started in 2013 – in the Romanian “Cluj”. Two years later, a change of employment registration followed, but within the country: Muniru signed a contract with Steaua Bucharest, in which he won the 2015/16 national Cup. Later he played for the Portuguese Tondela, the Turkish Yeni Malatyaspor, the Belarusian Dinamo from Minsk, the Russian Tambov and the Ghanaian Asante Kotoko.
“Welcome to the Citizens, Sulley!,”
This will be his second spell in Belarusian after featuring for their city rivals Dinamo Minsk in 2019.
