Former National Goalie rallies support for underfire Razak Abalora
One of the finest goalkeepers to grace Ghana Football, Ali Jarrah has offered his support to underfire Asante Kotoko and Black Stars goalkeeper, Razak Abalora.
Abalora has been in hot water off late for making several errors leading to goals scored against him.
The former WAFA and Azam FC shot stopper has been entrusted with the number one spot since his transfer to Kotoko most parts of the season. After an excellent start to life at the club, errors committed in recent matches has seen him come in for much criticism by fans.
There is a case made for Abalora to be benched so others can be given the opportunity.
The latest in the episode of errors came when Kotoko faced Inter Allies at Dawu. Abalora was at fault for the first goal conceded although the Porcupine Warriors eventually won the game.
This was after his error while on national team duty, saw Ghana lose by an odd goal to Morocco in an international friendly.
Amid calls to get his dropped at both club and national team level, Ali Jarrah believes that’s not the way to go.
“I will urge Ghanaians to support Razak Abalora,” the ex-Hearts of Oak goalie told Silver FM.
“He is a young talent yearning for the best goal keeper award in Ghana, He wasn’t making these current mistakes at his early days at Kotoko so let’s keep supporting him”.
“Let’s keep supporting him because I see that he has a psychological problem so the goalkeeper’s trainers, management and teachnical team should consult the head of the board, find out what the problem is and help him out because he is one of the best goal keepers we have in Ghana”, he concluded.
