Former PLB Boss Ashford Tettey Oku sober at Kurt Okraku’s dad’s funeral
The posture of former Chairman of the Premier League Board AshFord Tettey Oku at the final funeral rites of the late George Offei Simeon Okraku could move many to shed tears as the experienced football capo got sober.
Popular know as TT, the veteran administrator was spotted seated behind George Afriyie and Abdul Salam Yakubu in a mute and reflective manner, with arms folded on the chest, as the body of the late Okraku was being shouldered away by the military at the Ridge Church in Accra.
On Friday, February 25, 2022, at the Ridge Church the burial service for the late ex-service man who was the father of Ghana’s current FA President, was held.
Top football capos across the country and beyond graced the occasion and the former PLB Chairman, who is widely respected for his football knowledge, was not left out.
Ashford’s football knowledge spans from his days with Hearts of Oak through to the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) and the PLB.
His membership with the football industry dates as far back as 2009 when he was elected a member of the Premier League Board (PLB).
His continuous service with GHALCA and the PLB saw him rise sturdily to the Vice Chairman position of the PLB and eventually the Chairman in 2016.
The presence of the astute football capo was massively felt making the event colorful.
