GARFA Middle League : Golden Kick defeat Mobile Phone People to secure promotion to the Division One League
Golden Kick defeated Mobile Phone People to
to win the GARFA Division Two middle League final on Sunday.
Golden kick won 6-7 on penalty shootouts after a 1-1 draw game in regulation time at the Accra Sports Stadium to secure promotion to the 2021/2022 Division Two League.
Golden Kick were awarded a Penalty just a minute after kick off after the ball was handled in the box.
Joshua Fuseini stepped up and took the kick but goalkeeper Rockwell Narteh pulled off a great save to deny him.
Mobile Phone People after a decent run of play opened the scoring in the 16th minute, Michael Amponsah scored with a beautiful curler from inside the box.
In the second half, Golden Kick dominated the game and came close on a number of occasions before grabbing a deserving equalizer in the 80th minute.
Mizak Asante scored with a brilliant individual effort, the winger dribbled passed four players including the goalkeeper before putting the ball at the back of the net.
Both teams defended till the blast of the full-time whistle as penalty shootouts was needed to separate the two sides.
Golden Kick won the shootouts 7-6. Humphrey Doh who was sublime throughout the game for Mobile Phone People the villain in the shootouts.
