GFA President impressed with Baffour Soccer Academy

The President of the Ghana Football Association has applauded the founders of Baffour Soccer Academy for the wonderful infrastructure they have laid.

Based in Twumasikrom, near Sunyani in the Brong Region, the club owned by the Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah – Minister of Employment – boasts of over 65 players in the U15 and U17 division with several others in the U10 and U13 divisions.

The visit of the GFA President, though spontaneous addressed several important issues spanning from officiating to conduct of fans at the match centers.

Speaking to the players, the Ghana FA Boss praised the founder of the academy for his vision and called on the players be serious, respect their coaches and be prayerful in their endeavors.

“I am highly impressed with what I have seen here today and I have to commend Hon. Baffour Awuah for his vision of creating a life for young boys like you.

“You only have to be serious ready to learn, listen to your coaches and be prayerful,” he said.

He also called on the players to always ensure they observe the COVID-19 protocols.

The visit of the GFA President forms part of his plans of visiting all clubs in the Zone 1 of the Division One League as well as selected Premier League clubs within the Brong Ahafo Region, the Upper East and West as well as the Northern Regions in reviewing the first round of the season.

The young soccer academy boasts of two pitches, one for training and one for matches, modern dressing rooms,  two storey buildings used as hostels, a swimming pool an entertainment room, a restaurant, and 6 unit classroom.
