Ghana AFCON 2021 squad: Black Stars to play Sudan or Egypt in friendly – Asante-Twum
Black Stars of Ghana will take on Sudan or Egypt in a friendly ahead of the 33rd edition to the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, according to GFA Communications Director, Henry Asante-Twum.
As part of preparations for the tournament, Milovan Rajevac’s side will play three International friendly matches in Qatar where they will be camping.
Also, Ghana are expected to play a yet to named club side on Tuesday, December 28.
The team will be in Doha for a period of three weeks to prepare for the Tournament scheduled for Cameroon from January 9 to February 6, 2022.
The team will wrap up their test matches against African Champions Algeria on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
The Black Stars will depart Doha for Yaoundé on Friday, January 7, 2022 to take on the rest of Africa at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Ghana, who are paired with Morocco, Gabon and Comoros in Group C will open their campaign with a game against the Atlas Lions of Morocco on January 10 before playing the Panthers of Gabon and the Coelacanths of Comoros on January 14 and 18 respectively.
