Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac congratulates captain Andre Ayew on 100th cap
Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac has congratulated Andre Ayew on his 100th senior national team appearance on Sunday against South Africa as his solitary goal sent the Black Stars to the playoffs of the World Cup qualifiers.
The Al Sadd star converted a penalty in the 33rd minute to ensure Ghana top Group G.
Ghana were tied on points with South Africa but advanced on goals scored.
Ayew has now scored 22 goals in 100 games since making his debut in 2007 against Senegal.
He is now the second most capped Ghanaian player in history and is trailing Asamoah Gyan who has 109 caps.
Speaking after the game, the Serbian trainer showered praises on his captain after making 100th appearance for the team.
“I want to congratulate the captain for the 100th game and he is scored a goal today at his jubilee and Ghana won an important match so we showed that this fortress is not easy to conquer” he said.
