Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu sent off in Southampton’s draw with Spurs

Ghana international, Mohammed Salisu was sent off on Tuesday afternoon while in action for Southampton against Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League.

The strong centre-back started for the Saints at the St. Mary’s Stadium today to help the team fight for points against the matchday opponent.

In a game where Southampton started very well, the team had the lead after 25 minutes courtesy of a strike from midfield maestro James Ward-Prowse.

Unfortunately, Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu gave away a penalty kick with a bad foul in the 39th minute that earned him a second yellow card.

With striker Harry Kane converting from 12 yards, it forced the game to end in a 1-1 stalemate at the end of the 90 minutes.

Fortunately for Mohammed Salisu, his teammates did not allow his absence and the fewer men on the pitch to affect the team.

They fought to ensure they picked a point for their efforts.
