Ghana favorite to win clinch 2021 Africa Cup of Nations – Ex-striker Augustine Arhinful
Ghana has a good team to be able to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon], according to a former striker, Augustine Arhinful.
The four-time African champions have been drawn against Morocco, Gabon, and Comoros in Group C of the tournament and will begin their campaign against Morocco on January 10, 2022, at Yaounde.
Ad according to Arhinful, the Black Stars together with some countries in West Africa go into the competition with an edge above the others hence tipping them as favourites to win the competition.
“We have a good team and I think the group is okay,” he told Happy FM.
“The teams from the West Africa regions are always favourite so let’s count ourselves that we are favourites to win the trophy.
“Now there are no minnows in African football. How we prepare and select our players is the most important thing now.
“We must prepare very well for the tournament.
“The coach must now do a lot of scouting, focus on his formation and set pieces.
“Let’s ask when was the last time we scored from a set-pieces. We must work on all these things before the tournament,” he added.
Ghana have not won the Afcon since 1982.
