Ghana forward Caleb Ekuban provides assist to help Genoa earn draw at Sassuolo
Ghana international, Caleb Ekuban assisted a goal on Thursday evening while in action for Genoa in the clash against Sassuolo.
The forward and his teammates today played as visitors to the opponent aiming to secure a win to boost chances of escaping relegation at the end of the 2021/22 Italian Serie A season.
After a bright start to the game, Caleb Ekuban displayed his creativity after just six minutes into the first half as he set up Mattia Destro with a brilliant pass.
In a good position to score, Mattia Destro made no mistake as he fired his effort into the back of the net to shoot Genoa into a deserved lead.
Unfortunately for Caleb Ekuban and his teammates, they could not hold on to the finish line.
A second-half equalizer from Domenico Berardi in the 55th minute of the second half forced the encounter to end in a 1-1 stalemate.
Since joining Genoa, Caleb Ekuban has made 16 appearances in the Italian Serie A. He is yet to score but now has just one assist to his name.
