Ghana forward KP Boateng reveals how he was threated in Berlin after injuring Michael Ballack in 2010

Ghana forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has disclosed the Police in Berlin took his passport and threw it away after realizing he injured Germany captain Michael Ballack.

Just before the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Boateng inflicted a horrific injury on Ballack who missed the competition because of it.

The incident sparked a lot of hate on Boateng who chose to represent the Black Stars during their historic run to the quarterfinals.

Many years on, the 34-year-old has revealed the challenges he felt after injuring the former Chelsea star.

“Nobody ever asked me how I was doing. It was tough. I grew up in Germany and then a whole nation was against you – hate news, racist news. You scratched my car and pelted eggs,” he said Former Ghana international who was playing for Portsmouth FC at the time of the Ballack foul.

“I landed at the airport in Berlin. The police took my passport and threw it on the ground when they saw that it was me,” said Boateng about the difficult phase.
