Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru reacts to first league start since July at Anderlecht

Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has reacted to his first league start for Belgian giants Anderlecht since last year.

The Black Stars midfielder endured a difficult start to the 2021/22 campaign after securing a permanent move to Anderlecht before the commencement of the campaign.

He joined Anderlecht from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg after excelling on loan spell at the club.

Ashimeru started his first league game since July 31, 2021, and helped Anderlecht secure an impressive 4-1 win over KAS Eupen on Sunday.

The former WAFA star has played 822 minutes across all competitions and scored two goals.

Reacting to his first league start since July, he said, “Starting is the best way to assert yourself”.

He added he has a much more to offer the club after impressing in his first game since last year.

“There is much more in me”, he said.

He is expected to play a huge role in the remainder of the season for the club.
