Ghanaian attacker Abdul-Aziz Yakubu on target for Rio Ave in Cup win against Vitoria de Sernache
Ghanaian international, Abdul-Aziz Yakubu scored for his Rio Ave side on Sunday afternoon when the team earned a 3-1 win against Vitoria de Sernache in the Portuguese Cup.
In a match where Rio Ave played as the visiting team, the team dominated and took a deserved lead through Rubén Goncalvez.
In control of the match, Rio Ave continued to push in a bid to add to the scoring to pull away from the opponent
Fortunately for the team, their efforts yielded results just two minutes later. Striker Abdul-Aziz Yakubu was presented with a fine opportunity and made no mistake as he buried his effort in the back of the net of the opponent.
Although Vitoria de Sernache pulled one back before he first half break, Rio Ave netted a third in the second half to ensure they cruised to a comfortable 3-1 win.
Courtesy of the result, Abdul-Aziz Yakubu and his outfit are through to the next round of the Portuguese domestic cup competition.
