Ghanaian defender Daniel Opare signs for Belgian side RFC Seraing

Belgian First Division A side RFC Seraing have announced the signing of Ghanaian defender Daniel Opare.

The right back has penned a one-and-a-half-year deal with the club after a successful trial.

The former Standard Liege defender joins the newly-promoted Belgian top-flight campaigners on a free transfer having left fellow elite division side Zulte Waregem last summer.

A statement from the Seraing-based club confirming the signing of the versatile Ghanaian stopper reads:

“Our club is happy to announce the signing of Daniel OPARE,”

“Born on October 18, 1990, Daniel can boast of a magnificent career, between his stints at Real Madrid, Porto, Standard de Liège, Besiktas Istanbul, Augsburg, Antwerp or, recently, Zulte-Waregem,”

“Free of contract, Daniel had trained with our group during the month of December, to the general satisfaction.”

Opare has has previously featured for Real Madrid youth teams, Royal Antwerp, Besiktas, Lens, FC Porto, Standard Antwerp and FC Augsburg.

He has been capped 20 times at the senior national team level of Ghana, the Black Stars.
