Ghanaian forward Abdul Basit Khalid targets 15 goals with new club Sheriff Tiraspol

Ghana and Sheriff Tiraspol new signing Abdul Basit Khalid has revealed that his target for the 2021/221 season is to score 15 goals to propel him earn call up into the national team.

The 25-year sealed a move to the Moldovan giants FC Sheriff Tiraspol on a free transfer last week after parting ways with Tunisian giants Esperance Sportive de Tunis by mutual termination.

Basit joined Esperance from New Macedonian club Makedonija Gjorce Petrov in January 2021.

The former Dreams FC player managed three goals in 24 matches in all competitions for Esperance last season

In an interview with Metro TV, the enterprising forward said he wants to score more goals in order to break into the national team.

“Aside from helping FC Sheriff Tiraspol, to achieve its targets, I have a personal target for the season, I want to score 15 goals and hope that will earn me a place in the Black Stars squad,” he said.

Basit is expected to help his club to make a meaningful impact in the UEFA Champions League after beating shakhtar Donetsk their first group game.
