Ghanaian players abroad: Hat trick hero Joseph Esso headlines FMIG Team of the Week

FootballMadeInGhana brings you a comprehensive report on the highest-performing Ghanaian players abroad over the weekend.

The Best rated XI for this week is compiled by our European Football expert Daraja Kapoor JR.

Our formation for week three is 3-5-2:

GK Richard Ofori (Orlando Pirates)

The Black Stars goalkeeper kept a clean sheet for Pirates in their 0-0 stalemate with Gallants Fc in the South African Premier division.

CB Alexander Djiku (Strasbourg)

The 26 year old starred for Strasbourg in their convincing 3-1 win over Brest in Ligue 1.

Djiku lasted the entire duration and was rock solid throughout the game.

CB Mohammed Salisu (Southampton)

Mohammed Salisu was voted Man of the Match by Southampton fans following his impressive display in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Newcastle.

The centre back put up a complete all-round performance for the Saints who had to twice come from behind to pick one point at St James’ Park.

Salisu won 10 duels in the match and had FotMob rating 7.7 with 62 accurate  passes.

He also had a 85% pass success.

CB Daniel Amartey (Leicester City)

The centre back was in top form for the Foxes as they edged Norwich City to get back to winning ways in the English Premier League.

The Ghanaian international lasted the entire duration as Leicester secured a 2-1 victory at Carrow Road.

DM Joseph Attamah (Kayserispor)

Attamah maintains his spot in our TOTW following another impressive performance for Kayserispor over the weekend.

He lasted the entire duration as his side recorded a narrow 1-0 away to Basaksehir.

DM Baba Iddrisu (Mallorca)

Baba has played an instrumental role in Mallorca’s dream start to the new campaign.

The Black Stars midfielder saw 90 minutes of action as Mallorca dispatched newly promoted Espanyol 1-0 on Friday.

The Pirates have claimed seven point from the opening three games in the ongoing La Liga season .

CM Mubarak Wakaso (Shenzen FC)

Wakaso starred as Shenzen were held to a scoreless draw at home to Henan Songshan Longmen in the Chinese Super League.

Despite the result, the Black Stars midfielder sparkled throughout the entire 90 minutes of play.

LWF Sharani Zuberu (DAC)

Former Dreams FC attacker Zuberu Sharani netted his third league goal of the season for FC DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda in Slovakia top-flight.

The Ghanaian forward came from the bench to score his team’s third and last goal in their 3-0 away win over FK Pohronie.

RWF Joseph Esso (MC Algers)

The 24 year old bagged a hattrick as Algers played out a pulsating 4-4 draw against Hussein Dey in their final game of the season on Tuesday evening.

The striker has been in red-hot for MC Algers in the Algerian top-flight division since joining the club on lucrative three-year deal in April.

The prolific goalscorer has found the back of the net seven times in 18 appearances and finished the campaign as the joint top foreign scorer in the Algerian league along with Libya’s Mohamed Al Tubal.

CF Benjamin Tetteh (Yeni Malatyaspor)

Former Ghana U-20 striker was on target again for Yeni Malatyaspor in their 2-0 home win over Gaziantep FK in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday.

The in-form forward has scored in back to back games and has two goals in three league appearances  this season.

CF Kwame Kizito (Falkenberg)

Kwame Kizito scored twice for Falkenberg in their 1-3 away win against Vasteras in the Swedish Superettan league on Saturday.

The former Hearts of Oak hitman has now netted five goals in ten matches for Falkenberg this season.

His return from a long injury lay off has been key for Falkenberg, who are battling to survive the Superettan league.
