Ghana’s Jerome Opoku joins Danish club Vejle BK
In the ongoing summer transfer window, Danish club Vejle Boldklub has finalised the transfer of Ghanaian defender Jerome Opoku from English Championship side Fulham FC.
Johan Sandahl, the technical manager at Vejle Boldklub, sees potential in the defender, who is both physically strong and excellent on the ball, and who was most recently on loan at Plymouth Argyle in League One.
“Jerome is well trained in Fulham and has his strengths in the duels, and at the same time he can lead the ball forward. We must have competition for the seats in the central defense, and here Jerome will be able to bid. At the same time, we believe that if Jerome has a good season in Vejle, then he can have a great future here. That is why we have also attached a buy-out clause,” Johan Sandahl said.
“Jerome is a player who will give himself 100 percent for every training session and in every single match. I welcome him to, and now the rest is up to him,”
The loan to Vejle Boldklub is the next stage in the career of Vejle Boldklub’s new English player of Ghanaian descent.
“I believe I can contribute here. The club has good facilities and a clear game philosophy. Both appeal to me a lot. I will let my coaching team judge my potential, but I am clear and ambitious on my own behalf. Vejle Boldklub is a club that has previously shown that it can release young players in its strong and competitive environment, and that reputation has also been a driving force in my choice.
“I look forward to pulling the red beautiful jersey over my head and fighting for a position and value here in Vejle Boldklub, says Jerome Opoku.
