Gladson Awako is currently better than Wakaso – Charles Taylor fumes at Ghana call up
Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko star Charles Taylor has questioned the omission of Gladson Awako from the Black Stars squad.
The Bafana Bafana inflicted a 1-0 win over the Black Stars at the FnB Stadium in Johannesburg to go top of Group G last Monday.
Maritzburg United forward Bongokuhle Hlongwane strike in the dying embers of the game settled the encounter.
Taylor in an interview with Accra-based Angel FM emphatically stated Awako is currently a better player than Mubarak Wakaso and does not know why he was not invited for the World Cup qualifiers.
“Awako is currently better than Wakaso,” Taylor told Angel FM in Accra.
“The Black Stars National team is not for anybody, if you say it people will say you are hating.
“Awako protects the ball better and passes the ball well than Wakaso. His tackles are not good, I’m stating a fact.
“If CK wants to continue coaching the team he should be firm and open his eyes.” He added.
The 40-year-old featured for Ghana between 1999 and 2004 scoring 2 goals in 16 matches.
