Karela United’s home invincibility has been shattered by a majestic Asante Kotoko display during their Match Week 13 meeting in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.

The two sides clashed in this epic encounter with their own records to protect.

Karela entered the game with a 100% winning run at home, whole Asante Kotoko who were the league’s only unbeaten away side were keen to protect that.

Eventually, it will be Asante Kotoko’s that remains intact with Karela left wondering what has hit them on their own turf.

Karela United started the first half buoyed by a charged CAM Park audience. The home side created some openings inside the first 10 minutes by Kotoko’s defense were always on hand to sniff out any danger.

After being initially released on the flanks, Kwame Poku sent a pass towards an on-rushing Imoro Ibrahim.

The left back took a shot which was blocked and hit the rebound low which beat the Karela United goalkeeper, Baidoo.

Kotoko held on to their lead to finish the first half with a 1-0 advantage.

Back from recess Asante Kotoko continued to assert their dominance on the home side.

Kwame Opoku will double their lead inside 61 minutes after unleashing his pace to outwit his marker and lift a shot to the Karela goalkeeper’s right.

The win lifts Asante Kotoko to the top of the table with 23 points, one more than Bechem United and Karela who are joint second.
