Gregory Wuthrich continues to help Sturm Graz at righ back
The storm legionnaires Jon Gorenc-Stankovic and Gregory Wuthrich let Ried’s Wikinger go down almost solo in the Bundesliga 1-0 – now, Real Sociedad is coming in a different caliber on Thursday in the Europa League. The black and white duo spoke to the “Krone” about their interaction, the fight with Spain’s leaders and their future in Graz. According to reports, the club will soon come to an agreement with one of the top players.
Hardly a ball that this duo didn’t catch! The two “towers” in Sturm’s defensive Jon Gorenc-Stankovic and Gregory Wuthrich didn’t shake anything in the league against Ried. “After the international break, I still lack the rhythm of the game, I’m not really in shape,” says the reserved Slovene Stankovic, smiling slightly. Next to it stands the tall Swiss Wüthrich, praising the man next to him. “Jon is a leader, we hold the center together. Now we want to show that we have also made a step forward in Europe. ”For Wuhtrich a first against a Spanish club: he missed the Champions League hit with Bern against Valencia with an injury.
“You can talk to Gregory about anything, this relationship makes us better on the pitch,” says Stankovic, who also believes in the sensation against the Spanish leader on Thursday (Hierlander is questionable with knee injury, no ligaments are injured). “There’s always a chance, we have to try to disrupt their possession game and do our thing.”
It is hardly surprising that Sturm want to keep the duo for the longer term. “I like it in Graz,” laughs Wuthrich. “I won’t say more on this subject.” “I concentrate on football, everything else is handled by my advisor,” says Stankovic, buttoned up. In the talks regarding the extension of the contract, however, one should already stand before the end.
