Gregory Wüthrich reacts after powering Sturm Graz to victory against Klagenfurt
Swiss-born Ghanaian defender Gregory Wüthrich has reacted after emerging as the hero with his goal ensuring a victory for Sturm Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga against Klagenfurt last week.
The home side, Strum Graz inflicted a 2-1 win over newly promoted club Klagenfurt on Sunday at the Mercury Arena.
The visitors opened the scoring through Christopher Cevtko after just three minutes into the game before Jacob Jantscher restored parity from the spot in the 31st minute.
However, it was the Ghanaian defender who scored in additional time to help his side secure all points at stake
Reacting to his goal against Klagenfurt, he said, “I felt good and thought that maybe I could make a difference up front. Then, thank God, it worked out and that was great for all of us. It was an important win, also for morale, because we drew twice before that. That is why it has surely brought us back on track.”
He is expected to play a key role for the club in the 2021/22 season.
Wüthrich has represented Switzerland at the U20 and U21 levels but is eligible to play for Ghana.
