Grouchy Mariano Barreto charged with misconduct
Asante Kotoko head coach Mariano Barreto has found himself in the bad books of the Ghana Football Association for misconducting himself with his reaction towards referees in the Ghana Premier League.
The grumpy Portuguese manager has been charged by the Disciplinary Committee for his post match comments after his side played Legon Cities in Accra in the Ghana Premier League on Match Day 22, a game his side won 1-0.
The Kotoko gaffer has been charged on two counts of misconduct for claiming his side played 11 against 15 in the game with Legon Cities and also for verbally abusing the match officials without just cause.
He had also claimed that referees only make mistakes against Asante Kotoko, a comment which the FA see to be injurious to the professional running of the game and has a great effect of bringing the game into disrepute.
The statements of the Portuguese manager is a breach of Articles 38(8)(c) and 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations.
Barreto will therefore be facing the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana FA to defend himself or plead guilty of the charges leveled against him.
If found guilty of the charges leveled against him, the Portuguese manager will face punishment from the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana FA.
