Hamburg SV manager Tim Walter provides update on injured Ghanaian defender Jan Gyamerah

Manager of Hamburg SV, Tim Walter has revealed that although Jan Gyamerah’s injury in the game against FC St. Pauli is not as serious as feared, the defender will undergo further assessment today.

The Ghanaian international was in action for the German Bundesliga 2 outfit last Friday when the team lost 3-2 to the matchday opponent.

On the matchday, Jan Gyamerah saw a strong shot hit him in the face, forcing him to lay down for over five minutes.

After receiving the needed medical attention, he could not continue and was substitute as a precaution to ensure he was properly looked at.

Speaking in his post-match interview, Hamburg SV head coach Tim Walter disclosed that the player will be subject to additional checks.

The coach said, “We have to see how Jan is doing the next day.”

Coach Tim Walter further noted that Jan Gyamerah is already doing well.
