Hearts winger Enoch Asubonteng confident of victory against WAC
Hearts of winger Enoch Asubonteng says Hearts’ Champions League victory over CI Kamsar has increased the team’s confidence even more amongst the Phobians ahead of their next Champions League fixture against Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco.
Asubonteng who joined the Phobians from WAFA at the end of last season is confident Hearts has what it takes to beat the Morrocans in the CAF Champions League.
“I think we can draw a lot of confidence from the Kamsar game” Asubonteng told Hearts website.
“I’ve got to work hard in training every day and show the coaches that I am ready to be part of this squad. I’ve got to give him that trust so he will be ready to play me. I’ll be ready, I’ll always be ready to play and always ready to come on when needed. I see it that when I do get the chance to play, it’s also my chance to help the team”.
“We’ve got a very strong team which can go on and on. We’ve got to make sure we prepare right, go in and get ready for the WAC game. That’s what’s important and everyone’s looking forward to it”.
“We’re very confident, full of belief with the quality of players we have. We will go into every game, no matter who we play, ready to be ruthless in front of goal and defend our box as well”.
“We’ve done well in big games, against big opponents and it’s another chance for us to go out there and show what collectively we’ve got and what we’re about”.
The youngster also charged his teammates to approach the WAC game with confidence.
“The way we’ve started, I can only say we need to go into the game full of confidence. The WAC team is a very good side, full of quality players judging from the matches they’ve played so far in their league and we know the dangers they can cause, but we’ll be ready for them because we have to work well to defend the image of our club-Hearts”.
Hearts of Oak will host WAC of Morocco in the second round of the CAF Champions League on October 17.
