Hugo Broos express disappointment in FIFA over arrangements for Ghana v South Africa game
The head coach of the South Africa national team, Hugo Broos has hit out at FIFA for approving tough conditions for the game against Ghana.
Nicknamed the Bafana Bafana, the team has travelled to Ghana and will be locking horns with the Black Stars later tonight.
According to Hugo Broos, there was too much distance between the team’s hotel and training grounds.
Something he believes is not good for the visiting team ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifier.
“It was a long day today. We trained in the evening, but we needed it because the travel yesterday was exhausting for us.
“It’s a pity that Fifa allowed such things when you have to play qualifiers for a World Cup,” Hugo Broos said at his pre-match press conference.
The South Africa coach added, “Not only travel but if you have to take a bus after six hours flight, to go 120 kilometres and you do three hours on the bus.
“I don’t blame Ghana for that. I blame Fifa. Those are situations that are not appropriate for qualifiers of the World Cup.”
The game between Ghana and South Africa is scheduled to kick off at the Cape Coast Stadium today at 19:00GMT.
