I played Morocco match despite not feeling well, says Ghana captain Andre Ayew
Ghana captain Andre Ayew has revealed that he played in the game against Morocco despite not feeling well.
The Al-Sadd SC talisman is one of the many Ghana players that reported late to the training camp of the Black Stars in Doha, Qatar.
Today, Andre Ayew captained Ghana when the team faced off with Morocco in the first Group C game of the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Speaking in a post-match interview after a 1-0 defeat to the Atlas Lions, Andre Ayew disclosed that he was not in the best shape.
“I have not been feeling well for the past two days ,but I wanted to play, my colleagues wanted me on the field so I did everything to be there, its football and we are disappointed to concede in the last minute,” the Ghana captain said.
Ayew is expected to be fully fit on Friday, January 14, 2022, when Ghana takes on Gabon in the second game at the 2021 AFCON.
