I will not interfere in Hudson Odoi’s international future - Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has said he won’t interfere in Callum Hudson Odoi’s international future after rejecting call up into the England U-21.

The 21-year-old international future is in the balance and it is unknown whether he will switch nationality to play for Ghana after declining two invites into the England U-21 team.

The 21-year-old rejected two invites to the U21 team during the international breaks in October and November to concentrate on his club career.

Reports in the media suggest the England-born Ghanaian is considering swictinh nationality to play for Ghana.

However, according to his manager, he is not going to interfere in his decision whether to play for Ghana or England.

“It is Callum’s choice in the end, and I will not interfere and be the guy who decides for him.

“The best way to talk is with performance on the field, and the next chance is tomorrow, so the minutes he gets — if he gets minutes, he has to take it and let the quality speak for itself.

“He has decided to stay here [during the international break] twice to have the possibility to impress us and, from his point of view, the chance to [secure] his starting position.

“So fair enough, and I hope nobody takes [his decision] personally.” He said.
