Ibrahim Sunday hopes Prosper Narteh would be capable of withstanding the club’s pressure
Ibrahim Sunday, an Asante Kotoko legend, believes newly employed coach Dr. Prosper Ogum Nartey can handle the pressure that comes with managing the Kumasi based club.
On Saturday, September 18, Nartey was employed to manage the Porcupine Warriors in the next Ghana Premier League season, succeeding Portuguese coach Mariano Barretto.
The retired footballer told GL radio in China that Kotoko is generally managed by former players who turn to deal with the pressure, but Ogum may be lucky in that sense despite not being a former player of the club.
“You have to know the team and what it represents before you can probably be successful. Almost all the coaches who coach the team(Kotoko) are legends of the team but maybe he(Ogum) will be lucky. Because of the kind of pressure he has to deal with, if he has been a player of the club before then he will know how to cope. But if you’ve not played before, it will appear new then you start to make mistakes,”
Dr. Prosper Ogum Narteh and his assistants have already started pre season training with the squad.
