Inviting teenager Afena-Gyan to the Black Stars at this time is bad – Prince Tagoe
Former Ghana international, Prince Tagoe has opposed the decision to hand teenager Felix Afena-Gyan an invitation to the Black Stars.
The 18-year-old AS Roma attacker is one of 28 players called up by Ghana head coach Milovan Rajevac for the upcoming matches against Ethiopia and South Africa in the qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Despite the news thrilling some Ghanaians, Prince Tagoe has shared that the call-up has come too early for the player and it could cost him.
“Felix is a good lad obviously but we should not rush him.
“This is not a friendly match but crucial World Cup qualifiers. Just a small issue can destabilise him,” the former Black Stars striker told Angel TV prior to the call-up today.
Prince Tagoe added, “Let’s leave him to find his feet at Roma. We can invite him later.”
Felix Afena Gyan will after this weekend travel to Ghana to join the other invited players to prepare for the Ethiopia and South Africa matches.
