Jerome Boateng has to go to court in September
The date is set 32- year-old defender Jerome Boateng will have to answer in court in September.
District court spokesman Klaus-Peter Jungst confirms the date when asked by BILD: “The responsible criminal judge has now set the new date for Thursday, September 9th, at 10 a.m. because of the charge of bodily harm.”
According to the court, the main date, which was set for last December, was postponed because the witness was “prevented from appearing before it due to the Corona pandemic.”
He allegedly injured his girlfriend during an argument while they were on vacation.
According to reports from WDR and the Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper last year, Boateng’s lawyers at the time asserted that the case was a private matter, based mainly on unsubstantiated allegations from a third party.
According to the court, bodily harm is punishable by a fine or up to five years in prison.
Boateng began playing for Bayern Munich in 2011. His contract expired at the end of last June and was not extended.
