Joel Fameye still needs to work on finishing – Orenburg manager Marcel Lichka
Manager of Russia second tier side Orenburg, Marcel Lichka wants Ghana international Joel Fameye work on his finishing despite seeing an improvement in his play.
The 24-year-old has been outstanding for his outfit scoring nine goals and providing nine assists as Orenburg chases topflight promotion.
But Lichka, who sees Fameye as an improved player compared to his days at Dinamo Brest want the Black Stars attacker to work on his finishing.
He added he is a good example for young players considering his abilities.
“I know Fameye from his work at Dynamo Brest. Then he was a young player who didn’t always get into the first team. Now he is still a young player, but already with experience. When we played in the Premier League, he was second forward after Despotovic, but managed to score seven goals”
“I think this is a good result. Joel covers the ball well with his body, he is strong in the fight, when he accelerates, he is difficult to stop. But he still needs to work on finishing attacks: sometimes in good moments he closes but in comparison with the period of his career in Brest, Fameye made a big step forward”
“I know that he is loved at home. Joel is an optimist by nature and does many good deeds. In Ghana, he is popular as he plays for the national team. Joel is a good example for children and young players that gradually, moving step by step, you can achieve your goals in your career ,” he said.
