Jordan Ayimbila leaves Selangor to join San Antonio
Jordan Ayimbila with Selangor FC did not last long when he was released by the club as a result of mutual agreement.
The Red Giants have confirmed that the Ghanaian will travel to the United States to further his football career with San Antonio FC. Selangor FC head coach, Michael Feichtenbeiner, however, admitted that he was happy with the performance shown by Ayimbila during his time with the squad since last season.
“This is part of the system we are building here for young players. Selangor FC wants to produce potential players by giving them the opportunity to develop their talents whether local or imported players.
“Jordan is a young import player we signed last season. His skills in terms of fitness, speed and good running are honed to be more optimal when with this club.
“After playing in 24 matches with the main team with one goal assist as a defender, through the exposure of the Selangor FC system, other clubs began to see his potential and this opens up great opportunities for Jordan to go to a higher level.
“I am proud of his results and achievements and wish him all the best,” said the German.
Meanwhile, Ayimbila expressed his gratitude to Selangor for giving him the opportunity to play with the main team of Selangor and get the best experience.
“At first I came here to play with the Selangor FC 2 team and then I was given the opportunity to go to the main team.
“So, I am very grateful for the experience I got here. I will use everything I learned here to further improve the quality of my game.
“My teammates here are also very good to me. Thank you for being here. Although I am no longer with Selangor FC, my heart remains with you all,” he said.
