Kamal Sowah is a player I’m thinking about – Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac
Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac is keeping tabs on Ghanaian youngster Kamal Sowah despite his omission from the 28-man squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
The Black Stars will take on Ethiopia at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg on November 11 before playing host to South Africa at the Cape Coast stadium on November 14.
Ghana must defeat Ethiopia and South Africa to secure qualification to the final World Cup playoffs.
Ahead of the much-anticipated qualifiers, coach Milovan Rajevac has announced his 28-man squad excluding in-form Kamal Sowah.
The 21-year-old who joined Belgian side Club Brugge in the summer has been impressive for the club in the ongoing season.
Sowah struggled for playing time during his stint with Leicester City, however, he was sent out on loan multiple times.
After an impressive loan spell with OH Leuven, Sowah made a permanent move to Club Brugge in the summer and has hit the ground running.
Earlier report in the media suggested the Ghanaian youngster is on the verge of naturalizing for Belgium.
His exclusion from the 28-man squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa casted some doubts about his availability for the Black Stars.
But according to the Serbian trainer, he will visit the enterprising winger after the qualifiers to engage him about his availability for the Black Stars subsequent games.
He insisted Sowah is a player he has been thinking about and will do everything possible to get him for the country.
“He was trying to establish himself with Leicester City in the past, now in Club Brugge, he entered in the match against Manchester City as a substitute, so we are in touch and after these matches, my plan is to go and visit him, talk to him and check his availability for the next matches because he is a wonderful prospect and definitely, he is a player I am thinking about seriously” he said.
