Kamaldeen reveals why he snubbed Ajax for Rennes
Right to Dream graduate Kamaldeen Sulemana has revealed why he snubbed Eredivisie champions Ajax for Ligue 1 club Rennes.
Kamaldeen was the subject of a heated transfer war between Rennes and Ajax after impressing in the Danish Superliga for Nordsjaelland in the 2020/2021 campaign.
During the chase for Kamaldeen Ajax director, Marc Overmars attended a game sensational winger Kamaldeen Sulemana was involved in to get first hand knowledge about the most wanted player in the Danish league.
Kamaldeen Sulemana stated that he selected Rennes because he wanted to play in the Ligue 1 which is one of the best leagues in the world.
“With Rennes, I get to play in Ligue 1 which is one of the best leagues in the whole world, so that’s enough of my reason,” Kamaldeen said when asked about his decision to reject Ajax, during his official unveiling.
The 19-year-old has featured in one preseason game for his new club ahead of the new season.
