Karela United will beat Asante Kotoko, says club coach Bismark Kobi Mensah
Karela United head coach, Bismark Kobi Mensah says his side will halt Asante Kotoko’s fine start of the season.
Karela will host the Porcupine Warriors in the matchday five games of the ongoing 2021/22 Ghana Premier League at the Cosby Awuah Memorial Park in Ainyinase on Sunday.
Kotoko have enjoyed an incredible start to the season under new coach Prosper Ogum Narteh.
The Reds have recorded four out of four wins leaving them at the top of the league log with 12 points.
Ahead of the game, the young trainer insists the Porcupine Warriors are not special regardless of the results they have chalked so far.
“Kotoko are not a special team so we are not afraid of them. We can beat them on Sunday because they are really beatable,” Kobi Mensah told Domestic Sports.
“Supporters are sad but I don’t think they should because the league has not ended. We still have many matches to play and I believe that anything can happen,” he added.
Kotoko will likely miss midfielder Richmond Lamptey against Karela after he picked up an injury against Techiman Eleven Wonders last weekend unless he passes a late fitness test.
Also, Mudasiru Salifu will not play part of the game following accumulated yellow cards as he is currently on three.
Karela have amassed five points after four games. They are yet to taste defeat at home after sharing the spoils with Aduana Stars and defeating Berekum Chelsea.
