Kevin-Prince Boateng has back problems- Hertha Berlin head coach
Hertha Berlin head coach, Pal Dardai, has revealed that Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has back issues hence his substitution during his team’s game against Wolfsburg.
It was revealed that he took painkillers to play.
“He had taken painkillers before because he had a bit of back problems. Our backs were closed during the game, so we had to switch,” reported the Hertha coach at the press conference after the final whistle.
“With Jovetić we have a player for 70 minutes, Prince for 60 minutes. That’s why we divided it like this today: first half fight mode and if there is more space in the second half, Jovetić comes. Then we would have changed anyway, so it was only five minutes earlier. Plus / minus five minutes doesn’t do any harm, Prince was honest and said it couldn’t be done anymore, that was okay. “
Dardai added that Boateng might take two weeks to recover from his setback.
“I don’t know anything yet. The muscle is closed. Sometimes you get really good treatment and the muscle is free again. And sometimes it takes two weeks, ” Dardai stated.
Boateng joined Hertha Berlin on a free transfer after leaving Serie B side AC Monza.
