Young Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Afriyie has been handed his first invite to the Senior National Football Team.
Born Kwame Afriyie Adubofour Poku in the UK, the 19 year old player will have the opportunity to prove his worth when Ghana faces South Africa and Sao Tome.
Kwame Afriyie plays for Colchester United in the English fourth tier as an attacking midfielder. He has so far made 31 appearances, contributing just 1 assist.
Aside playing in the Central attacking midfield area, the youngster can play as a right winger or a left winger and will provide options for Ghana Head Coach Charles Akonnor.
Ghana face South Africa on March 25 and play Sao Tome three days later in the AFCON qualifiers. The results of the game will be inconsequential to Ghana’s chances of making the tournament proper in Cameroon next year.
