Late Jones Alhassan Abu to be buried in Tamale tomorrow

The late Jones Alhassan Abu will be buried in his home town, Tamale, on Wednesday, footballmadeinghana.com can confirm.

The dead body will be conveyed to Tamale via Airforce flight upon arrival in Ghana, and the burial service, per Islamic conventions will continue immediately.

The late Jones Abu Alhassan died on Tuesday in Cote d’Ivoire after a short illness.

He was on national duty with Hasaacas Ladies during the WAFU Zone B Women’s Champions League when he fell sick and was hospital I in Abidjan.

Family sources have revealed that the GFA has made arrangements for the body to be enplaned to Tamale for burial Wednesday.

The death of Jones has hit the top hierarchy of the Ghana Football Association so deep as he was described as an institution from whom a lot of knowledge was tapped.

Jones is credited with helping in the writing and organization of the football regulations governing the game in Ghana.

Until his death, he was a member of the Division One League Board, and also a management committee member of the Black Stars.

He had previously held positions in GHALCA, and had been a major pillar in the football history of Ghana Premier League returnees RTU.

He was the co-founder of Tamale City FC.
