Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has secured a move to Chinese Super League side Shenzhen Football Club, FMIG can report.

The 30-year-old was unattached after the dissolution of his former side Jiangsu Suning FC. On 28 February 2021, the parent company Suning Holdings Group announced that operations were going to cease immediately for the club alongside the women and youth teams.

This left Wakaso Mubarak with no option but to find a new employer and gracefully he has found one.

He joins a Shenzen FC side currently managed by Jordi Cruyff, son of the late Barcelona and Dutch football legend Johan Cryuff.

Shenzhen FC was founded on January 26, 1994. After successive league title wins in the third and second tier of the professional football leagues, they were promoted to the top tier in the 1996 Chinese Jia-A League season. After only one season they were relegated, however they quickly regained promotion and started to establish themselves within the league before they won the rebranded 2004 Chinese Super League title, making them the first club to win all three divisions within the Chinese league pyramid.
