Leicester City set to lose Daniel Amartey and three others next month

Leicester City will be without four players for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.

The competition begins on January 9, and those playing might miss up to a month of club football depending on how far their international teams advance.

Brendan Rodgers will be forced to change his squad, with Daniel Amartey, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Nampalys Mendy all ruled out.

It has not been confirmed when the players would fly overseas, but Boxing Day has been mentioned as a possible date, which would mean the four players may miss up to seven games.

During that period, Leicester will play twice in the Premier League against Manchester City, Norwich City, Burnley, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Liverpool, and the four players may also miss the FA Cup fixture against Watford.
